How to Dress Like Otto from The Simpsons
Hair:
Otto has long, wild hair reminiscent of 80s hair metal rock stars like Slash. Black and curly, it goes down past his shoulders and shows off his laid-back personality. You can get this look yourself by dying your own hair black and styling it, or by wearing a black wig.
Check online costume websites and Halloween stores to find a good wig, and use hairspray to add more volume so you’ll look like you just crawled out of bed for a drive down to school.
Yellow Complexion:
Otto, like most of the characters in the Simpsons universe, has bright yellow skin. Use yellow face makeup, body paint or yellow-toned makeup primer to get this look yourself, and wear a pair of yellow rubber gloves over your hands to add to it.
Outfit:
Otto is dressed just like a young teenager. Even though he’s an adult man, he can’t seem to give up his baggy mauve shorts and bright pink t-shirt.
You can find similar clothing items from shopping malls and online retail websites, as well as thrift stores if you’re looking for a more worn style. When shopping, look for faded colors just like Otto’s clothing has.
Accessories:
As a music junkie, Otto is rarely seen without his Walkman clipped to his shorts and his bright orange and turquoise over-the-ear headphones on. You can purchase a Walkman online, or you can use another type of music player such as an MP3 player or iPod if you can’t track down the right nostalgic old-school song machine.
To complete your Otto Mann costume, pick up a pair of orange and white high-top sneakers from your favorite shoe shop or retail website, and finally an orange baseball cap with a large front visor.
