In The Life Aquatic, Steve Zissou is an oceanographer and documentarian hellbent on revenge for the death of his friend and colleague. When his friend Esteban du Plantier is devoured by a “jaguar shark”, Zissou devotes his next documentary to the destruction of the sea creature. He, along with the rest of Team Zissou, embark on a journey on their yellow submarine to track down the shark.
Steve Zissou is modeled after legendary oceanographer Jaque Cousteau and borrows heavily from his iconic wardrobe. Steve, along with the rest of Team Zissou, wears a uniform consisting of blue pants, a blue collared short sleeve button up shirt and a red beanie similar to the one worn by Cousteau.
Zissou also rocks an awesome Hemmingway beard. He tops off his look with a pair of white Adidas sneakers and a gun holster around his leg just in case he happens upon any jaguar sharks.
