How to Dress Like Spike Spiegel from ‘Cowboy Bebop’
Hair:
Spike has fluffy dark brown hair which is styled with a ton of volume that makes him look like a 1980’s new wave musician. This is a great look that’s sure to catch attention!
To recreate it for your costume, you can style and dye your natural hair, or you can wear a dark brown wig. You can get wigs from most online costume websites and Halloween shops.
Use hairspray to add that maximum volume, or search for a pre-styled wig with the same extreme fluffy look.
Suit & Outfit:
Spike often wears a light blue leisure suit. If you’ve ever seen any fashions from the disco era, you’ll definitely recognize the high collars and fabric creases of one of these outfits.
You can buy leisure suits online from retail websites, or you can search costume shops to find one.
Spike’s leisure suit is worn with a high-collared yellow shirt underneath, which you can also buy from retail sites, and he often wears a skinny black necktie and brown trench coat with this.
Accessories:
To add the final pieces to your Spike costume, you’ll need Spike’s pistol, his cigarette and the black shoes he wears on his feet. You can buy black shoes and boots from any shoe shop.
For the cigarette, you can use a fake candy cigarette, white pipe cleaner or a white plastic stick. You can get candy cigarettes online from many large retail websites and candy shops, and pipe cleaners and plastic from craft shops.
