Everyone will be dressed as Jason Momoa’s Aquaman at the conventions this year, so why not go retro. The original Aquaman wears a long sleeve, long pants wetsuit that’s orange up top and green on the bottom with the classic superhero belt with a bright yellow “A.” Plus a trident. He’s Aquaman he’s gotta have a trident.
Complete Costume:
Hair:
Think quintessential surfer hair—golden blonde, short on the sides, long on the top, and wind-blown. If you’ve got golden locks that you can style, great. This wig will do the job.
Aquaman Suit & Accessories:
You’ll be able to find all of these things in stores or online, and this would be a pretty tricky costume to create yourself without the help of a skilled seamstress. An athletic store should have the pants and shirt.
An orange Under Armour-style shirt and teal leggings/compression pants will be the foundation for Aquaman. Add a green speedo on top of the pants.
For the gloves you can use green dishwashing gloves, which you can find at a dollar store or grocery store.
You’ll need green boots too. You can either use green rain boots or look for a pair of patent leather kelly green boots. Another option would be to find a pair at a second hand store and paint them green.
His belt is bright, safety yellow with a yellow “A” buckle. You’ll probably have to buy the belt and the buckle separately, and paint the buckle to match the belt.
A prop trident will tie the whole look together.
