Mera DIY Costume Guide for Cosplay and Halloween
How to Dress Like Mera for Cosplay and Halloween [Photo: billybookcase]

Make a splash at your next con or Halloween party by becoming the hydrokinetic Queen of the Seven Seas with our Mera cosplay tutorial!

In ‘Aquaman’, Mera is an incredibly powerful Atlantean with acute hearing & vision, the ability to swim faster than most. She can even remove water from different sources—including people—in order to weaken her enemies.

Mera is sort of like Ariel from The Little Mermaid, except she’s a total badass. Her locks are long and red, just like Ariel’s. Her suit is a green, scaly wetsuit with gold and blue accents. And of course she rocks a crown and a trident. She’s royalty!

Check out our guide to become Mera at your next costume party or convention.

How to Dress Like Mera from ‘Aquaman’

Hair:

Unless you’ve got waist-length bright red hair, you’ll probably need to hunt down a wig. A costume shop or website will certainly have one. You could look for a Poison Ivy or Ariel from The Little Mermaid wig.

Suit & Accessories:

If you’re a talented costume maker (or know one) you might be able to fabricate Mera’s scaly green bodysuit. But it will probably be easier to find one in stores or online.

The Queen of the Seven Seas also needs her trident and crown. Her crown is gold and simple (she doesn’t have room for frills) and more like a tiara. If you can’t find a gold one that suits you, you can snag a silver one and use gold spray paint to modify it. A trident will be easily found at a halloween store or online.

So get you and Aquaman and go wow your friends at the next convention!
