How to Dress Like Aang from Avatar the Last Airbender
Head:
Aang has no hair. He’s completely bald, but he does have the imprint of a light blue symbol resembling a downwards pointed arrow on his forehead. Wear a rubber bald cap over your natural hair to get a similar look, and use blue Halloween makeup or a washable marker to draw the symbol on.
If you’d rather take a daring move and skip a bald cap, you can shave your own head using electric clippers or by visiting a hair salon to have it done for you. Afterwards, just apply the blue makeup on your own forehead to create Aang’s memorable symbol, and allow it to dry before you attend your upcoming event.
Eyes:
Aang has very bright emerald green eyes. You can get this look with colored non-prescription contact lenses for an extra spark of realistic style, or skip this step if you’re planning your costume in a hurry.
Outfit:
Aang wears a pale yellow high-collared shirt with matching yellow pants attached which reach down to his knees. He also wears an orange smock with short sleeves, orange wrist bands and a matching orange fabric belt.
You can get shirts, smocks and pants in these colors from online retail websites and shopping malls, or use yellow and orange fabric to create your own outfit instead.
Use an orange strip of fabric such as a scarf or tie for the belt, which you can also find from retail websites or accessories websites.
Accessories:
To finish off your Aang costume, you’ll need his brown shoes and canvas leg coverings, as well as the long wooden stick he carries as a tool and weapon. You can purchase brown leg warmers online, and for his shoes, check your local shoe shop or favorite retail website.
Lastly, you’ll need the stick. Search online costume websites or Halloween stores for a good one, or go outside and find a real wooden stick or walking stick to carry around with you at your next event!
Get your friends to dress up as other characters from Avatar such as Kataru, Korra and Roku so you can all go to your next trick-or-treat night or convention as a team!
