Android 17 was once a human being until an evil scientist turned him into a cyborg against his will with the intention that he, Android 17, would find and kill Goku, the main hero of the anime classic Dragon Ball Z. Android 17 goes after Goku wearing a pretty casual style, but he’s on anything but a casual mission.

Android 17 keeps his head kind of turned down and seems to lift his eyes up to look. With this posture, he looks very defiant and sinister. He wears his black hair parted in the middle and wears a pair of ripped jeans, a black shirt, and an large orange bandana around his neck.

How to Dress Like Android 17 from Dragon Ball Z

Head:

You can purchase a black wig from a costume store and cut it to about chin length if it is too long. Android 17’s hair is styled straight and parted down the middle. Android 17 keeps his face lowered and has a “don’t mess with me” expression on his face, so if you want to stay in character try to replicate that attitude and look.

Shirt:

Wear a long-sleeved white shirt and a black T-shirt on top. These items may already be in your closet. On the T-shirt on the left side of the chest place a Red Ribbon Army logo. You can buy an iron-on patch online or you can print the logo out on a colored printer, cut it out, and tape it on for a one-time use. Tie on a large triangular orange bandana around your neck. If you can’t find the right bandana you can buy a yard or so of orange fabric and cut it into a triangle or fold it into one and use that.

Pants:

Android 17 wears something similar to high waisted “dad-jeans” with a belt. You can find a pair of old jeans like this at a thrift store and then cut and rip a hole on the left thigh. Android 17 wears a belt and he also wears a holster. You can pick up a holster or toolbelt, which looks similar to one, online or at Lowe’s, Rural King, or a Home Depot type-store. Costume stores may sell them as well for a cowboy costume or something like that.

Shoes:

Android 17 wears bright green socks overtop the bottom of his pants. They look thick like leg-warmers almost. You can find socks like these online or at a department store. His shoes are bright royal blue and look similar to Converse sneakers, which are available in many department stores or online for that specific color.
