How to Dress Like Dipper Pines from Gravity Falls
Hair & Hat:
Dipper has short floppy brown hair, often concealed partially by his blue-and-white baseball cap which features a simple cartoon pine tree graphic on the front.
For the hat, you can check retail websites or purchase a plain baseball cap and use a fabric marker to draw the tree on. You can also use an iron-on fabric tree patch instead if you’d rather.
Nose:
Dipper’s nose is slightly redder than the rest of his face – he must get out in the summer sun a lot! – and he has noticeable bags under his eyes. Use a very subtle pink blush and eyebrow pencil to add on these extra details for a closer style to Dipper’s.
Outfit:
Dipper wears a baggy navy-blue vest over a plain orange t-shirt, white socks with a red stripe on the ankles and dark gray shorts.
The baggy vest is an especially great choice if it’s going to be a cold day at your next party or convention! Don’t forget to hike up the socks to your knees the way Dipper does so you can achieve his iconic summer hiker look!
Accessories:
Dipper wears black sneakers with a white border on the bottom. You can buy basic sneakers from any shoe shop or retail website.
Dipper is also sometimes seen wearing a large green camper’s backpack. You can buy backpacks online from retail websites or camping supply stores.
Birthmark:
Under the fringe of bangs over Dipper’s eyes, he has a bizarre constellation-shaped birthmark on his head. It’s shaped like the famous “Big Dipper” stars (which is also the character’s namesake). You can draw this extra detail on with a makeup pencil or washable marker to give your costume a bit more authenticity if you want.
