In Persona 5, Makoto Niijima is a playable character and the school president, although she is very unpopular at first and known for being rather pompous, selfish and greedy. In spite of this, the reality is that this opinion of her is based on rumors and gossip.

Eventually after a lot of self-reflection, she opts to remain with the Phantom Thieves, deciding that standing up for what is right is more important to her than her schoolgirl reputation.

If you love Persona 5 and anime in general, get ready to show it off with a Makoto Niijima costume of your own for your next party or cosplay convention!

Hair:

Makoto has very dark brown hair styled in a prim and professional bob cut, along with straight-cut bangs over her eyes and a French-style braided headband keeping it in place.

You can either dye and style your own hair in this manner, or you can use a dark brown cosplay wig.

Search retail websites and Halloween stores for the right wig, and use scissors to style it into Makoto’s no-nonsense preppy style.

Eyes:

Makoto has magenta-colored wide anime eyes. You can use colored contact lenses for a similar look, and check out video tutorials if you need help finding the right makeup style to recreate the look of big anime eyes.

Outfit:

Makoto wears a long-sleeved white turtleneck shirt underneath a black button-up vest with a halter strap around the back of her neck. She wears an oversized red, white and black plaid school uniform pleated skirt and black pantyhose underneath it.

You can search for the components to this outfit online from retail websites and shopping malls, or you can check to see if a pre-made Makoto Niijima school uniform costume is available.

For the black pantyhose, you can find these at any retail website or lingerie shop.

Her Metaverse outfit features a blue and black skintight suit worn along with dark gray corset-style leather breastplate, a black scarf, knee pads and shoulder pads with spikes, boots with metal toes and heels, white thin gloves and an iron mask.

Accessories:

Makoto wears black and brown ankle boots with a silver zipper on the front of each, and pointed toes.

If you can’t find the same pair, you can use paint to customize a plain pair of brown pointed-toe boots instead.
