In Space Jam, the 1996 Looney Tunes live-action crossover classic, NBA legend Michael Jordan is recruited by Bugs Bunny to join the Tune Squad against the Monstars – a team of nefarious toons who have stolen the basketball powers of other NBA superstars.
With a variety of different characters to choose from among the Tune Squad and Monstars Squad, including Michael Jordan, Bugs Bunny, Lola Bunny, Daffy Duck, Taz and more toons, there are more than enough costume options to suit any Space Jam fan’s cosplay needs.

How to Dress Like Tune Squad Michael Jordan
Michael Jordan Tune Squad Jersey:
After Michael Jordan retired, many thought they’d never see him in a basketball uniform again. They were wrong, but I bet they never thought they’d see him show up in a basketball jersey for a Looney Tunes basketball team!
As a member of the Tune Squad, MJ wears the team uniform featuring his iconic number ’23’. The Tune Squad uniform is white, consisting of blue and red striping around the sleeves and shorts. There is a Tune Squad logo on the front of the jersey which looks similar to the circular element featured at the beginning of many Looney Tunes cartoons.
Fortunately, you can pick up a Michael Jordan Tune Squad uniform on certain retail stores, including Amazon. Check out the links on this page.
Air Jordan Basketball Shoes:
You can’t talk about Michael Jordan on the basketball court without also bringing up his legendary brand of NIKE shoes – Air Jordans. In Space Jam, MJ wears a pair of special black Air Jordan sneakers that bring in elements of outer space. These sneakers are considered a classic and collector’s item even today.
While they may be tricky to track down, you can still find a pair of authentic Space Jam Air Jordan sneakers today. If you can’t find one, or don’t have the cash to dole out, you could also use any pair of black basketball shoes as part of your costume.
Michael’s Secret Stuff:
When MJ is feeling a bit winded on the court battling against the Monstars, he sometimes got a boost from his teammate Bugs Bunny who had a handy bottle of liquid labeled “Michael’s Secret Stuff”.
To replicate this prop, you’ll just need to find a plastic blue water bottle and place a yellow note on the front that reads “Michael’s Secret Stuff”.
