How to Dress Like Eliza Thornberry from The Wild Thornberrys
Hair:
Eliza has medium-length strawberry blonde hair in two braids, one on either side of her head, held together with bright red hair elastics. She has no bangs, giving her forehead a slightly raised appearance.
You can style and dye your own hair to get Eliza’s signature look, or you can use a strawberry blonde cosplay wig instead.
Face:
Eliza has a chubby face with raised eyebrows, freckles, a prominent overbite held back with braces on her teeth, pink lip gloss and a pair of wire-framed round glasses over her eyes.
Buy some fake costume teeth, glasses and lip gloss online from Amazon to recreate Eliza’s overbite.
Outfit:
Eliza wears a baggy, short-sleeved bright yellow dress with red patches and a red collar on it, as well as white underwear-like shorts and bright blue ankle socks.
If you are feeling crafty, get a plain yellow dress and sew patches of red fabric onto it to recreate the dress.
Accessories:
Sometimes Eliza is depicted wearing a large safari backpack, orange in color. You can purchase orange backpacks online from retail websites and camping supply stores.
Sometimes Eliza is also seen using binoculars, which you can purchase from retail websites and camping supply stores, as well.
Search for a pair with a neck string so you can wear them while cosplaying, or you can store them in your backpack when you’re not using them.
Darwin:
Eliza’s best friend in the world (even though at one point she mocks him by calling him a “crybaby in a tank top”), is Darwin, her pet ape whom she can also speak aloud to.
You can purchase stuffed ape plushies online, including Darwin plushies made for The Wild Thornberrys TV show.
Carry it around with you during your upcoming convention or while trick-or-treating for an additional detail to your costume.
