How to Dress Like Jessica Jones
Probably the most prominent item in the Jessica Jones look is her leather jacket. Jones likes to keep it dark, edgy and low-key, so black is always the color of choice for her leather jacket. If you wish to get down to the specifics, opt for a black leather jacket with two zipped pockets to best replicate her style.
Although Jones has been seen wearing the scarf on and off the entire series, this is one item that further reinforces the look. The grey infinity scarf is her favorite, so make sure snag a similar one for your costume.
Jessica Jones wears a pair of distressed jeans most of the time. Ripping the jeans requires a skill to pull off correctly, so if you don’t already own one, you can very carefully rip and tear some old jeans with a blade or scissors.
Our hero likes to make things classic with neutral colors, so much so that even her top of choice is always dark or grey. This should be easy. Just throw on any grey or black shirt or tank top before wearing the black leather jacket, and you should be instantly recognizable as Jessica Jones.
As for the footwear, the signature item for the Jones costume is a pair of black boots. Any pair of dark-colored boots would do the trick but if you want to keep your look as close as possible to the character, then look for one that’s mid-shaft length, side zippers and a metal buckle at the front.
Now, there are a few key pieces that finish the Jessica Jones look more accurately. You want to wear a green messenger bag and a DSLR camera to give off that spy vibe. Also, she’s often seen with a travel bottle which she fills with whiskey instead of water, but that’s optional for you. And lastly, wear a pair of black fingerless gloves.
If the pair you own aren’t fingerless, then you can just cut those off right around the finger area, and you’ll instantly have a similar pair to Jessica’s.
Coming with a Jessica Jones look is fast and breezy, simply because most of the items are staple to any woman’s wardrobe (jeans, boots, and leather jacket for instance), and the rest of the accessories you can easily DIY. Remember though to wear a black hair and be a little rude to truly get into Jones’ character.
About Jessica Jones
They say everyone’s born a hero. But if you let it, life will push you over the line until you’re the villain. Problem is, you don’t always know that you’ve crossed that line. Maybe it’s enough that the world thinks I’m a hero.
