Lloyd Christmas is half of the pair of complete morons from the Dumb and Dumber movies. While his intentions are mostly good, like returning a briefcase to a beautiful woman across the country, he can’t help but get everything wrong and usually make a fool of himself and his best friend. In the movie, the two go to a charity ball in their outrageous tuxedos, Lloyd’s being a tastefully loud orange.

Lloyd Christmas has a very iconic and strange look. His hair looks like he wakes up and cuts it himself every morning and his poor smile displays a prominent chip on his front tooth. At the charity ball he wears an all-orange tuxedo from the crazy orange top hat down to the shoes and uses his fancy cane as a sword.

How to Dress Like Lloyd Christmas from Dumb & Dumber

Head:

Lloyd’s hair is pretty much covered by his orange top-hat, so you could get away with not doing anything to your hair, but if you want to go all in, consider cutting your own hair straight across your forehead orrrr maybe get the Lloyd Christmas wig online instead. For the top hat, you can look online or at a costume store and spray paint whatever you find if it’s not the right color. There is also makeup that you can put on your teeth that can achieve the chipped tooth look, without actually chipping your tooth. If you want to really capture Lloyd’s character, try to keep a stupid look on your face and smile awkwardly, showing your upper teeth.

Outfit:

You can find full Lloyd Christmas tuxedo costumes online, or you can look for individual parts of the costume at a thrift store. Try to find orange dress pants, a suit jacket, a light-orange or white blouse with ruffles, and an orange bow-tie. It might be hard to find the exact right color of orange across the board, but, hey, you’re dressing up as dumb and dumber, so maybe it will get that point across better!

Shoes:

Orange shoes might be at a costume store but it might be easier to find some shoes at a thrift store and spray paint them orange.

Cane:

You can buy an orange cane online or you can create your own using a dowel rod from a craft store and painting it. And when you start fencing with it, just try to not poke anyone’s eye out or chip any more teeth.

Briefcase:

If you are going with a friend dressing up as Harry you will need to work out who will get the briefcase because you only need one. Briefcases could be found at a thrift store or you might ask around to see if anyone has one you could borrow.
