How to Dress Like Harry Dunne from Dumb & Dumber
Head:
Harry wears a baby-blue top hat on top of his below-the-ears, messy blond hair. Top hats can be found at a costume store or online. If it is the wrong color, you can spray paint it. The messy hair can be achieved if your hair is long enough, but if you want the right color and length, you can also purchase a Harry Dunne wig online. If you want to keep in character, have a very stupid aloof expression on your face, usually with your mouth agape.
Baby Blue Tuxedo:
There are full Harry Dunne tuxedo costumes online that you can purchase, or you can go to a thrift store or an online shop and try to find baby blue dress pants, suit jacket, ruffly blouse (you may check the women’s section), and bow-tie. You could make your own bow tie with fabric and then just hot-glue it to the shirt you will wear. If finding baby-blue everything is too hard, a white ruffly blouse could accent it well.
Shoes:
Look for Baby-blue or white shiny tux shoes. These might be at a costume store or you can find some shoes at a thrift store and spray paint them to the right color.
Cane:
The cane adds that extra-ridiculous dapperness to the costume. You can buy a baby-blue cane online or you can make something similar with a dowel rod from a craft store and paint it. Just don’t smack yourself or Lloyd too hard with it.
Briefcase:
In the movie, the main characters are trying to return a briefcase. If you want to add this to your costume, check out a thrift store for something like that or ask a grandpa businessman if they have one you can borrow.
