How to Dress Like Peni Park from Into the Spider-Verse
Hair:
Peni’s hairstyle is very simple; she has shaggy black hair down a bit past her chin, complete with choppy black bangs over her eyes.
To get a similar style for your costume, you can dye your own hair black like Peni’s and cut it into her look, or you can wear a black cosplay wig.
You can find a good one in this guide. If you need to, use scissors to cut and style it to look like the character’s hair.
Outfit:
Peni is usually depicted wearing a preppy school uniform with a white short-sleeved blouse, a black cable-knit sweater-vest, a green and purple pleated tartan miniskirt and a thin black uniform necktie.
For an extra flair, purchase a pair of black knee-high socks with red cuff stripes just like Peni’s.
Her sweater-vest features a bright red stripe on the front, which you can either buy pre-made or create yourself using ribbon or fabric paint.
Accessories:
Peni is rarely seen without her mint green cat-shaped backpack, which she wears over her shoulders.
You can search for a green cat backpack on retail websites and wholesale websites, or you can use a basic mint green backpack and sew fabric pieces on to mimic the cat face.
The backpack has pink felt ears which stick up over the top zipper, but the cat’s face is sewn to the back using strips of darker fabric.
Peni also wears black combat boots with pink and purple laces in them.
Anime Eyes:
For an extra challenge to your costume, give your costume a bright set of brown anime eyes just like Peni’s. You can use non-prescription colored contact lenses for this look, or you can use Halloween face paint and eye cosmetics to create a large eye effect.
