In Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Poe Dameron is a human pilot for the Resistance with an incredible talent and affinity for his work. The first thing he says to Finn is the memorable line “I can fly anything” – and indeed, he certainly can. He inherited his love of flying from his mother. He is a proud member of the Resistance who once flew with the New Republic.

How to Dress Like Poe Dameron for Cosplay or Halloween

Hair:

Poe has very dark brown wavy hair, thick eyebrows to match, and he always keeps his hair slicked down with gel. This is a simple look to do, especially if this is already your natural hair color, but you can always use dye or wear a wig if you want. Poe keeps his hair short, too. It’s not a buzz-cut or anything, but he has it short enough to fit nicely into his flight helmet. He has stubble on his face. You can use a dark eyebrow pencil to add this detail if you want.

Clothing:

The two most iconic pieces Poe is known to wear are his bright orange full-bodied flight suit, and his black leather pilot’s jacket. The jacket has a turned-out collar and is embroidered with a gold crest on the sleeve. He usually wears the jacket over a white shirt when off-duty. You can either buy these items or create your own ensemble using whatever fabric you’d like.

Accessories:

To pull off an authentic Poe Dameron costume, you’ll need a helmet. Poe’s flight helmet resembles a motorcycle helmet and is gray with a red crest on the front. You can buy one at a Halloween party store, or paint an old helmet to look like Poe’s.

He wears a tan-colored inflated vest as well for safety during his space flights. This also includes a plastic rectangular box with control buttons attached. He wears a utility belt equipped with different tools, and for a fun extra project you can design your very own belt and customize it any way you want.

Poe’s boots are black and heavy-duty for functionality. His vast multitude of accessories make him extra fun as a cosplay project because you can mix and match different items for a look that’s entirely your own.
