How to Dress Like Rose Tico for Cosplay & Halloween
Hair:
This memorable character stands out with her shoulder-length jet back hair, curled upwards slightly at the ends. You can either get this look yourself by dying your hair, or wear a wig. Rose also has choppy bangs and black eyebrows. If your natural hair color is black that’s even better because all you have to do is get the right cut to match Rose’s iconic fashion.
Lipstick and Makeup:
Rose wears pale pink lipstick, matching her first name. You can either pick up some inexpensive drugstore lipstick, or you can use pink Halloween makeup to do this style. She doesn’t wear any eyeliner but she wears pink blush on her cheeks. You can use a light dusting of pressed powder for this extra detail if you want.
Outfit:
Rose’s wears a chartreuse (yellowy-brown) jumpsuit made of thick felt-like fabric. You can either buy one or make your own out of whatever cloth you’d like. She has a gray box attached to her suit with buttons on it, and to add this accessory you can make your own from metal and plastic or other household materials and sew or glue it on. She wears a black turtleneck under her suit, and heavy brown combat boots, which you can find at most army surplus stores. When you’re an intergalactic mechanic, you have to be functional first and fashionable second, but she somehow manages to pull off both.
Pendant Necklace:
Rose wears a keepsake as a reminder of her sister’s sacrifice which gives her strength throughout her journey. Her sister Paige had a matching pendant which signified their bond. It resembles half of a yin and yang symbol. There are several prop makers who sell this pendant on Amazon or Etsy.
Weapons:
Rose doesn’t carry a lightsaber like a Jedi, but she is often seen using large black gun that closely resembles a machine gun.
Get your friends to dress up as other Star Wars characters to take over the convention like the Resistance on the Starkiller Base.
