How to Dress Like Tuxedo Mask from Sailor Moon
Hair:
Tuxedo Mask has choppy black hair down to the back of his neck and framed around his ears. To achieve the same look for your upcoming convention or party, use a cosplay wig or dye your hair black.
Mask:
Tuxedo Mask would never be complete without his white mask! Similar to a Mardi Gras mask with sharp angled eyes, his mask closely resembles a pair of cat’s eye glasses and perches over his nose.
You can make your own mask using white cardstock or fabric, or you can search costume websites, party websites and retail stores for a pre-made costume mask.
Outfit:
Tuxedo Mask is depicted often wearing a solid black overcoat, black dress pants, a white dress shirt and a black cape lined with bright red fabric. To get all these parts for your own costume, search cosplay websites and retail websites for formal attire, or search tailor shops.
Pin the cape over your overcoat the same way Tuxedo Mask does in the TV show and books.
Accessories:
Finish off your Tuxedo Mask costume with a tall black classic top hat, a white elastic bow-tie with a red velvet strap, white gloves and black dress shoes.
You can get all these items online websites, and for the shoes, you can order a pair from a retail site or purchase a pair from your local shoe shop. Use shoe polish for an extra detail to give your footwear a more authentic look.
Red Rose:
Tuxedo Mask’s trademark move on Sailor Moon is to throw down a thorny red rose in the midst of chaos, sending everybody into silence as he appears.
Get a red rose to carry with you, and practice throwing it the same way Tuxedo Mask does.
Sailor Moon:
For a great couple’s costume, get a friend to dress up as Tuxedo Mask’s love interest and co-fighter, the pretty guardian Sailor Moon, so you can both go to your next cosplay event or Halloween Party together as a team!
