How to Dress Like Wreck-It Ralph
Hair:
Ralph has some really crazy unkempt brown hair in a hedgehog-like spiky style. You can dye and cut your own hair or use a dark brown wig to get this style down. Use liquid hair gel to shape the spikes in your hair or search for a wig that has spikes already shaped into it. You can also use hair spray if you prefer.
Outfit:
Ralph wears dark brown corduroy coveralls over a plaid orange work shirt, as well as an earthy green undershirt. He wears no shoes, preferring to go barefoot (you can wear flip-flops or brown sandals if you prefer shoes). Check out online costume websites or clothing shops for these items, or local thrift stores.
The sleeves are torn on Ralph’s orange shirt and one strap of his coveralls is hanging down on the right side, making him look like he just crawled away from a bad fight. His knees are scuffed and his pant-legs are ratty, giving him even more of a hardcore appearance. Use a photo of him from the film for inspiration as you plan your costume.
Enormous Arms:
Ralph has frighteningly large biceps and his huge hands are clenched into angry fists, perfect for tearing stuff down! You can get this effect in your own costume by shopping online for inflatable muscles or using costume foam padding to build up your arms and legs inside the clothes you’re wearing. Use tape to hold it in place.
Eyebrows:
Ralph has thick eyebrows that match his hair. You can buy stick-on eyebrows from an online Halloween costume shop or use costume makeup to draw them on. Go for a bushy effect, and angle them slightly downward to get the same look as Ralph has.
This is an excellent cosplay choice, especially if you’re going to see the upcoming sequel in theaters! Show up dressed as Wreck-It Ralph, and get your friends to dress up as other characters like Fix-It Felix, Jr., Vanellope von Schweetz and Sergeant Calhoun so you’ll have a group of all the best characters, and practice your best imitations of Ralph’s lines from the film!
