Ellie, from The Last of Us, is a teenage girl who is immune to the infection that swept the world, killing the majority of humankind. Her DNA holds the key to solving the mystery of the disease and any hope of finding a cure for it. “The Infected” go after her and her guide and protector, Joel, and, though young and sometimes naive, she holds her own and doesn’t hesitate to kill.

Ellie looks like a typical teenager, but one that has seen a lot of death and destruction and participated in some of that herself. With her hair pulled back in a pony-tail and a small cut in her eyebrow and scars and dirt on her face, she holds onto her backpack and her weapons, ready to fight for her life and the life of everyone who hopes for the cure that only she can provide.

How to Dress Like Ellie from The Last of Us

Head:

Ellie wears her hair in a ponytail with wisps falling out, framing her face. She has a small scar on her right eyebrow, so if you are very brave you can cut a little bit of your eyebrow.

Ellie is pretty dirty from all the sweating and running and killing, so you can apply some dirt makeup to you face as well and try to recreate some of the cuts and scars she has.

Outfit:

Depending which outfit you like best, Ellie has two main ones that you could go with: either a short-sleeve, long-sleeve duo, or a neopolitan sweatshirt. For the first option, use a black, long-sleeve shirt and then put Ellie’s red tropical sunset shirt on top.

You can buy this specific shirt online, or you could buy a red short-sleeve shirt and print out the tropical sunset graphic on a color printer and tape it on or create an iron-on, using special paper from a craft store.

Ellie wears dark blue jeans and black hi-top Chuck Taylor shoes. For the sweatshirt look, it might be easiest to buy the sweatshirt online since it is a specific style and neapolitan ice-cream color combo.

Backpack:

Ellie’s backpack is a dark color and has a few accessories pinned on like a hazard symbol and an airplane wings pin. Feel free to be creative and use your own pins that you may have or you can print out ones like hers and cut them into small circles and attach them to the backpack.

She also has a little purple creature keychain attached which you could probably find something similar at a gas station or Clair’s. You can also put some survival tools like a flashlight inside the backpack to use as props.
