In Jurassic Park, Dr. Ellie Sattler, a kick-ass paleobotanist with an impeccable fashion sense (for 1990’s era paleobotanists), survived rampaging velociraptors, dinosaur poo and the insufferable sardonic wit of Ian Malcolm. Throughout her travails at the doomed dino park Ellie sported a get-up consisting of a salmon-colored dress shirt, khaki shorts and a reliable pair of hiking boots – perfect attire to dig for dinosaur bones in Montana or, as it turns out, to evade living, breathing dinosaur clones.

It is rumored that she wore a salmon shirt in order to evade the gaze of velociraptors as they are notoriously colorblind rendering salmon-colored things practically invisible. OK, fine! That’s a load of triceratops dung. Ellie was just really into salmon-colored attire. But who isn’t?

For the dinosaur-loving cosplayers out there, this Dr. Ellie Sattler inspired costume is the most fun you can have without getting chased by a T-Rex.

About Dr. Ellie Sattler

Dr. Ellie Sattler was a respected paleobotanist who made her way to Jurassic Park alongside her boyfriend Dr. Alan Grant, a famed paleontologist. After years of digging up plant fossils alongside Dr. Grant in Montana, Dr. Sattler takes a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit a park where dinosaurs are brought to life for scientific study, but mostly, as it turns out, for human amusement.

Early on during her visit to Jurassic Park she encountered a sickly triceratops. The plucky paleobotanist immediately jumped into action by digging into a massive pile of triceratops poop in search for clues. By the time she discovered the reason for the dinosaur’s illness (a poisonous species of Lilac), her journey had already gone off the rails as the park became overrun by rampaging T-rex’s and velociraptors.
